Kirkbymoorside Community Primary is a happy, caring school set in the beautiful surroundings of the North Yorkshire Moors. At our school, we take pride in the kindness, work and attitudes of all of our students. We have a dedicated and hardworking team who work alongside our families and committed PTA to do the very best for our children. We are a school that likes to celebrate community and success at every level; the life of the school is driven by enthusiasm and a desire to achieve.

We promote learning that is active, creative and encourages children to embrace challenge, placing a great emphasis on ensuring that every child is able to fulfill their potential.

Our children engage in a wide range of experiences to compliment their learning as well as enrich their opportunities for development and well-being. We consider the skills of communication, numeracy and literacy to be the foundation of our learning and are proud of our standards. We place a high value on developing the characteristics of effective learners and teach children the importance of resillience, kindness, curiosity and taking pride in themselves and others.

Our school has a warm, friendly atmosphere and we work in collaboration with our families. We have an open-door policy and believe that strong partnerships with parents and carers generate the best possible educational experiences for the children of Kirkbymoorside School.
